msmu.pv.replay

Rerun a file-backed workflow, returning a new MuData with fresh history.

Parameters:

Name Type Description Default
history MuData | dict

MuData containing the original log, or the decoded result of get_log().

required
sources dict | None

Optional mapping from recorded paths/URLs to replacement paths/URLs.

None
verify bool

Require recorded hashes and verify inputs/outputs (default True). False reruns without hash verification; known unrecorded edits still fail.

True

Branches and concat are supported. Shared results are copied at forks. Other nested MuData inputs and non-MuData returns are unsupported. Only public msmu functions can run. Environment differences are logged as warnings; packages are never installed or changed. The supplied object/log is not modified.

Returns:

Type Description
MuData

A newly computed MuData with fresh history.

Examples:

import msmu as mm
# mdata must contain a supported file-backed workflow with recorded hashes.
reproduced = mm.pv.replay(mdata)

See get_log to inspect history, to_script for editable Python, and to_env for recorded package versions.
